St. Thomas Day Celebrations and Induction Ceremony  at St. Thomas College, Bhilai

Bhilai : St. Thomas Day was solemnly celebrated at St. Thomas College, Bhilai. Chief Guest of the Occasion was Manager Bishop of the College H.G. Dr. Joseph Mar Dionysius. The Manager Bishop said that it was appropriate to begin the new academic session by paying homage to the patron saint, St. Thomas and seeking his intercession. Manager Bishop also threw light on the life of St. Thomas and emphasized the first year students of B. Sc., B.Com, BBA, B.A and BAJMC to follow virtuous path and to lead a good and successful life.

 

Administrator of the college Very Rev. Geevarghese Ramban, Very Rev. Thomas Ramban, Fr. Joshy Varghese, Fr. Aju K. Varghese and Fr. Josen John also graced the occasion.

 

The program began by offering floral tribute to the portrait of St. Thomas. Principal of the college Dr. M.G. Roymon welcomed the gathering. He briefed the students about the rules and regulations of the college. Newly admitted students of various streams were introduced to various Clubs, Forums and Departments of the college by Dr. Jyoti Bakshi, Ms. V. Shanti and Dr. Susan Abraham. Sharing the views about the college Dr. Mariam Jacob, Dr. Ashok Kumar Mishra, Dr. James Mathew, Dr. Chanda Verma and Dr. Suja Varghese acquainted them with various activities of the college.

 

The college fraternity also celebrated birthday of Dr. Joseph Mar Dionysius Metropolitan. The program was also followed by the inauguration of the newly constructed wing of the Mar Theodosius Block and Gymnasium for the students. Dr. Sujata Koley conducted the program and Vote of Thanks was proposed by Dr. Sheeja Varkey.
