MGM COLLEGE CELEBRATES ITS FIRST FRESHERS - INAUGURAL DAY

Midland (Dimapur) : The MGM College had the privilege to celebrate its very first fresher’s day cum inaugural day with the first batch of the college on the 17th of August 2017. The function was adorned by the gracious presents of His Grace Dr. Joseph Mar Dionysius Metropolitan, Manager of MGM Group of Institutions., Very Rev. Geevarghese Ramban, Fr. Joshi Varghese, Fr. Aju Varghese, Dr. Manoj Prabhakar, Fr. Shibu Varghese, the governing body of St. Thomas Mission Society, MGM Church members, Rank Holders and Toppers of MGM High School and Hr. Secondary School and all the staff and faculty members of the institution.

 

A welcome speech was given by the principal Fr. Shibu varghese. The presidential address was delivered by Dr. Joseph Mar Dionysius. The present MGM College is under Bishop’s 60th Birthday Project. He is an educationist, writer, orator and a research guide. In his speech, he advise to the students to be the torch - bearers, an ideal model for the coming generations. He also stress the education should be value based and an emblem​ of spirituality. Further, His Grace announce to provide a prestigious award and a medal to the Top 10 Rank holders. He concluded by saying that students should have a civic mind, patriotism, love for nature and to develop strategies and technic on how to live a healthy life.

 

The BA first semester students also introduce themselves and certificate were given for a previous seminar they attended in the college. Short felicitation address was also delivered by Very Rev. Geevarghese Ramaban, Dr. Manoj Prabhakar,  Fr. Joshi varghese.

 

High school and Higher secondary Rank holders and toppers were also felicitated along with the teachers. Finally the program ended with a vote of thanks by the Vice Principal Mrs. Durga Malakar. The program was hosted by faculties of the college Dr. Joseph and Ms. Washimongla Jamir.
